How to Grant Access to Your Google Ads Account

Granting access to your Google Ads account can be done in two main ways, depending on whether you want to give access to a specific user or if you need to provide access to an agency managing multiple accounts through a Manager Account (MCC). Below are step-by-step instructions for both methods.

1. Granting Access to a Specific User

Login to Your Google Ads Account: Click the Admin icon on the bottom left of the option menu

Navigate to Access and Security: Click on the "Access and Security" option in the admin menu.

Add a New User: Click the blue plus button (+) to add a new user.

Enter User Details:

  • Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
  • Select the appropriate account access level (e.g., Admin, Standard, Read Only).
  • Click "Send invitation.

Handle Domain Restrictions (if applicable): If you encounter an error related to the email’s domain, an extra step is required:

  • Navigate to the "Security" settings.
  • Have an Admin on the account allow the desired email domain.
  • Save the changes by pressing "Save" at the bottom right corner.

Invitation Sent: The invitee will receive an email invitation to access your Google Ads account.

2. Granting Access to a Google Ads Manager Account (MCC)

Identify Your CID Number: Find your 10-digit Customer ID (CID) number in the top right corner of your Google Ads account, next to your profile icon.

Provide Your CID to the Agency: Share your CID number with the agency managing your account.

Approve the Linking Request: Once the agency requests access, navigate to "Access & Security” and go to managers. Approve the linking request from the agency.
